The latest LIHNN social event was our quiz night, held at the magnificent Jefferson Library at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
Before the quiz we had a quick tour of the MRI Library with our host Steve Glover. It’s an impressive, and well-used facility, with plenty of nice new furniture, study spaces, and resources. For the quiz we moved through to the Jefferson Library. Steve very kindly supplied us with food which was an unexpected bonus – as Karl Marx used to say “a man [and woman presumably] must eat before he can think.”
Fuelled by a cold buffet four teams of four were formed to tackle the quiz. 24 out of 40 was the top mark – see how you get on with the questions! For the picture quiz you have to name the painting and the artist.
After the quiz we moved on to The Turing Tap for a couple of pints; in common with what is becoming a theme for LIHNN social nights drinks were consumed against a video backdrop of the England cricket team getting thrashed. Perhaps we should make sure our next social evening doesn’t coincide with the national team’s cricket fixtures!
