David Stewart’s association with Health Libraries North (HLN) is relatively recent compared to his involvement with the North West but it is by no means less significant. David’s commitment to libraries and the library profession is clearly evident from his role with HEE and with his work with CILIP but it is also evidenced by the support he has given to HLN. He has been a valuable “mentor” to HLN, never giving directions but instead asking the right (and sometimes difficult) questions. He has always been ready to back the network in its goals and always willing contributor to HLN events. His knowledge of developments in the wider library world has been an incredibly useful resource for HLN, as has been the financial support provided through funds from HEE.
He is a friend to HLN and has a standing invitation to attend any HLN events (virtual or otherwise) in the future with (or without) top hat, tails and a MBE!
I’m sure every member of HLN will join me in wishing David a long and happy retirement.
With very best wishes
Hugh Hanchard
Chair of Health Libraries North
