As part of Libraries Week (7th- 12th October), the Library and Information Service at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals ran Digital Libraries Week to celebrate the library’s digital collection and its role in supporting patient care, research, and education. Wayne Troake (Senior Educational Technologist) ran a session in the library on the Wednesday show casing the role of virtual reality, augmented reality, and 3D printing in health care. The session was well attended with one of our Practice Education Facilitators bringing up his class to experience this new technology. Feedback was positive with participants describing it as a “great experience.” On the Thursday and Friday, Richard Crookes (EBSCO Health Senior Customer Engagement Manager) set up a stall in the foyer of our Health Academy 1 building to discuss DynaMed. With the help of a large quantity of chocolate Richard spoke to over a hundred clinical staff and students over the two days. He helped them to download the DynaMed App, making access to the latest high quality evidence available to them at all times.
