Hello everyone

I’ve recently joined the team at Leeds Community Healthcare Trust as a Library Trainee. My team have been so welcoming, and I feel very fortunate to be in a role where learning is constant and fully supported. I’ve managed to visit some of the other health libraries and their teams across Leeds in the last few weeks and look forward to meeting more in the future.

This is my first role in a Health Library having previously worked in North Yorkshire public libraries - and several years teaching gymnastics! Every day I am learning more about our NHS, the Trust and the role of health libraries. I am seeing first-hand how our librarians support staff across the Trust and after hearing my mum sing the praises of NHS libraries throughout her nursing career, I am so happy to be joining the team.

This is a brand-new challenge for me. I’m really enjoying the varied nature of the job and the chance to learn new skills. Long may it continue. For now, I’ll be embarking on an almighty stock check. Wish me luck!
