Hello everyone, my name is Mary and I have been in post now almost six months, though it has gone past in a flash! I am new to the NHS, having spent over 20 years working in the academic library sector. My last academic post was Electronic Resources Librarian at University of Bolton. I was ready for a new exciting challenge and joining the NHS has certainly been that! My new KLS post is a hybrid role between two Trusts - Stockport NHS Foundation Trust and Tameside and Glossop Integration Care Foundation Trust. I have enjoyed getting to know how the two NHS organisations work and have really appreciated the support of my colleagues at each Trust and also the wider KLS community. Particular thanks to colleagues at Tameside and MFT for helping me provide a service at Stockport before Naomi was in post. I’m very excited about the future of KLS at both Trusts and look forward to the challenges ahead.
Hi, my name is Naomi and I have recently started as Assistant Librarian at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. Some of you may know me already, as I have moved from Blackpool Teaching Hospitals to work closer to home and I started my NHS journey a few years ago in a Library Assistant role at Greater Manchester Mental Health. In between that, I worked at a charity managing and analysing data to develop insights and show impact. I’m looking forward to using those experiences and gaining lots of new ones to support the staff and students here in Stockport with their information needs. After 3 years of working mostly from home, I’m also very excited to be back in a physical library space! My professional interests include literature searching and data, but what I love most about working in health libraries is how varied it is.
