Following a period of restructure, we have been working towards promoting and developing the service. Our Evidence Search and User Education servicer were re-launched with a Finding the Evidence’ session undertaken for pharmacists and (in association with Wirral University Teaching Hospital LKS) a Critical Appraisal session for F1s. The Library website was updated to include specialist resources links, a new Evidence alerts service has been launched and plans are in place to add Trust research to the Library catalogue.

The service now takes part in the monthly Corporate Induction Welcome Events which provides an opportunity for the team to get to meet new members of staff. The first Pop-up Library at sister site Ellesmere Port Hospital has taken place and the team were grateful to be invited to a ‘Goodbye and Hello’ session to address graduating radiotherapy students undertaken at Liverpool University.

We are undertaking a project to refresh the book stock, with the help of our volunteer Peter to remove out of date stock, arranging collection with Better World Books and replacing stock following consultation with Trust staff. We have also adjusted processes and decreased our turnaround times for document supply and local inductions.

The team has been attending network events picking up some useful tips along the way on current awareness and social media amongst other things and we have had some successes in personal development with Virginia becoming a Certified UpToDate trainer and Graham revalidating his CILIP Chartership with the help of CILIP North West’s ‘Revalidate in an evening workshop’.

Looking forward, we are hoping to continue to improve the service and make further inroads into the organisation.
